How is playground turf installed?

Playground turf is installed as a system: the turf, the layer beneath it, and the depth of that build-up are specified together for the site. We confirm that specification with you before work begins.

Can playground artificial turf withstand Indiana's harsh winter conditions?

Yes, our playground turf synthetic turf is engineered to perform consistently through extreme weather conditions, including freezing temperatures, snow, and ice, holding its appearance and surface consistency year-round.

What maintenance is required for artificial playground turf?

Playground artificial turf requires minimal maintenance, typically involving periodic brushing to maintain fiber alignment, occasional rinsing to remove debris, and an annual professional inspection of seams, edges, and infill levels.

How long does artificial playground turf installation typically take?

Most playground artificial turf installations are completed within 3-5 days, depending on the project size and site conditions. We coordinate timing to minimize disruption to school activities and ensure proper curing time.

What materials is artificial playground turf made from?

Our playground synthetic turf uses materials selected with care for spaces used by children. The turf also eliminates the need for harmful pesticides, fertilizers, and excessive water usage required by natural grass.

Playground Turf Installation, Harris Elementary Fort Wayne

Project Overview

ForeverLawn® Northeast Indiana completed a comprehensive playground transformation at a Fort Wayne elementary school, addressing critical safety concerns with traditional hard surfaces. The project installed playground turf across the school’s active play areas. The school administration sought a durable, low-maintenance solution that would hold up to heavy daily play by children while maintaining consistent performance through Indiana’s challenging weather conditions.

Our Approach

Our installation team began with thorough site preparation, ensuring proper drainage and base stabilization for optimal performance. The specialized artificial grass for playgrounds features advanced shock-absorption technology specifically engineered for high-impact play activities. We coordinated the installation during school breaks to minimize disruption, completing the project with precision grading and seamless turf integration. Our comprehensive artificial grass services included detailed quality checks at each stage of the installation.

Key Highlights

The completed installation includes specialized padding underneath the synthetic surface, when installed as a tested system during active play. The weather-resistant turf maintains consistent performance through Fort Wayne’s harsh winters and hot summers, eliminating concerns about muddy or frozen play areas. The lush green appearance enhances the school’s outdoor aesthetics while requiring minimal maintenance compared to traditional surfaces. Advanced drainage systems ensure quick water removal, allowing children to return to play shortly after rain events.
