Playground Turf Installation at Huntington Elementary

Flint Springs Elementary School in Huntington, Indiana needed a safe, durable surface solution for their high-traffic outdoor activity area right outside the school’s main entrance. The existing surface was creating maintenance challenges and safety concerns for the hundreds of students who used this space daily for outdoor activities and play. The school administration sought a long-term solution that would provide a clean, safe environment while reducing ongoing maintenance requirements. Our team installed 1,140 square feet of high-quality playground turf, specifically designed for educational environments where safety and durability are paramount. This artificial grass for playgrounds installation required careful preparation of the base surface to ensure proper drainage and optimal performance. The playground turf system drains quickly, which suits Northeast Indiana’s varying weather conditions.

The installation transformed the area into a lush, safe space where students can engage in outdoor activities year-round without tracking mud or debris into the school building. The synthetic surface provides consistent traction and holds its appearance despite heavy daily use. Teachers and administrators immediately noticed the improvement in cleanliness, as students no longer brought dirt and grass stains indoors after outdoor activities.

The completed project delivered exactly what Flint Springs Elementary needed: a low-maintenance surface that holds up to daily use while providing a professional appearance that reflects well on the school. The durable playground turf installation will serve the school community for years to come, providing reliable performance through Indiana’s harsh winters and active spring seasons without the ongoing costs and labor associated with natural grass maintenance.
